Our meetings are free and open to the public and our lending library is available for use at meetings.
We currently have three membership levels:
- One Month Trial Membership – $10
- General Membership – $30
- Premium Membership – $60
Membership dues directly support our primary mission – babywearing education. We believe that education should be free. To continue to provide education, maintain the lending library and our infrastructure, we require financial support. The majority of our financial support comes from our membership dues.
One Month Trial Membership
We offer a one time one month trial membership for $10. This trial membership allows you to check out one carrier for one month. All lending library policies including late fees apply.
After your one month trial, you can convert your trial membership to an annual membership for $20 when you return your carrier.
General Membership Benefits
- Gain lending library privileges! Dues paying members in good standing may check out two carriers per month to take home and use. *Please note that if you check out two carriers at the same time, carriers must be of different types and this cannot be done on your first checkout. Over the course of an annual membership, you’ll get to try at least 12 different carriers! This is a great way to “try before you buy”, get a carrier for a special occasion/purpose, or explore other carrier options as your child grows and your needs change. - Support the growth of our chapter! Membership funds go towards growing and maintaining our lending library, supporting outreach efforts (including print materials), and to pay operational costs.
- Support babywearing education and advocacy in our community! Member support helps our group grow and bring babywearing education to all interested members of our community. We are in the early stages of developing a carrier distribution program and would welcome your ideas about this or other outreach opportunities. If you are part of a group that might be interested in partnering, let us know!
Premium Memberships (New)
This type of membership costs $60 for the year and includes all of the benefits of a general membership plus a one time home visit from one of our volunteers. During the home visit the volunteer will help you with any personal carriers that you may have and provide a personal babywearing consultation/babywearing 101 demo.
Gift Memberships
Looking for the perfect baby shower gift? A membership to Babywearing Connecticut is perfect! For $30, your gift recipient obtains access to a library of over 100 carriers and can try out a different carrier a month for a full year – a great way to find the perfect carrier for each stage of an infant’s development.
