Meredith Young (Educator) is a babywearing educator and current president of Babywearing Connecticut. She has been babywearing since her son was born 3 years ago. Her favorite carrier depends on the age of the child but she currently finds soft structured carriers the most comfortable for hiking with her 3 year old (which is the only time he will go up nowadays). In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and going for hikes/walks.
Stephanie McAdams (Educator) is a Navy spouse and stay at home mom of 6 children. She started babywearing with a ring sling and a baby bjorn when her oldest was born in 2004. Babywearing has been a great help in enabling her to meet the needs of multiple children at once and keep up with the adventures and frequent moves that come with military family life. Wearing a newborn and learning to breastfeed in a carrier allowed her to keep up with active toddler and school aged kids, and keep everyone happier. Stephanie has trained with the Center for Babywearing Studies, and volunteered with BWI groups in WA, MD and VA over the past 6 years before moving to CT. Babywearing is one of her favorite parenting tools and she loves working with new caregivers to help them get comfortable with using their carriers.
